The heat in Ho Chi Minh City can often feel oppressive, so visiting a bar to escape it all while being accompanied by that most refreshing of drinks — the gin and tonic — sounds like a great fit. The Gin House is the first bar in the city to specialise in the spirit and has been opening its doors to a wide array of gin-based drinks and cocktails since August 2016.

Ho Chi Minh City’s flourishing craft beer craze has a new entrant — Rogue. Owner Linh Nguyen opened the bar in August this year as a sister bar to his alternative event venture, Saigon Outcast.

If you fancy going for a beer and a game of billiards, on the far side of town, then head on down to Heyday Beer Club.

To find Indika: House of Curiosities, you must keep your eyes peeled for the logo at the street entrance and follow the winding path down past the restaurants and cafés. You are then greeted by a spacious courtyard decorated with green outdoor furniture and a constant rhythmic bass line coming from the music.

When safe drinking water is nowhere to be found, you could always head on down to Furbrew for some hop-infused refreshment.

Opened a year and a half ago by owner Hanh Pham, Lantern Lounge (80 Ma May, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) is her vision for a chilled out, beautiful and unique drinking and dining space. It has been wowing patrons from day one.

In the four months since its grand opening, Piu Piu has arrived in Saigon with such a splash upon the social scene, it’s hard to remember what we were doing before it found its feet.
